BF Heroes not primarily for hardcore gamers

During GDC Paris, the executive producer of EA DICE, said that Battlefield Heroes will not primarily be for hardcore gamers. We have all heard the critique of BF Heroes that it looks too much like Team Fortress 2, but TF2 is very much a hardcore game at it’s core.
Because DICE have a lot on it’s table, BF Heroes might not be it’s highest priority since it’s free, and this apparently limits the scope of target audience for Battlefield Heroes. Instead BF Heroes will focus on those gamers who are intimidated by the level of skill required to start playing a game like Battlefield 2, Counter-Strike or Team Fortress 2.
Our hope is however that BF Heroes will be deep enough to allow players to have a lot of fun at once even if they haven’t played a lot of first-person shooters before, but have the ability to improve their skill-level and really shine on the battlefield. TF 2 did this great by allowing people to play defensive and support classes like Engineer and Medic, and BF Heroes should definitively try to learn from Valve here.
