While we wait for the game to be release, check out some new information about some planned features we are expecting to see soon.
First, there is a new map, called Coastal Clash released soon. It will be very centered around infantry, compared to many other maps where especially tanks are vital to a victory. The windmill in the middle is very important for the control of the map.
New social features will be released. You can add and track friends, to see when and where they play. The leaderboards is also back, where you can compete with thousands of players for fame and glory. It is also possible to make groups, with their own group banners and leaderboards.
If you was annoyed that you could only rent items for appearence before, you don’t have to be annoyed any more. All appearance-items are now permanent, so if you get them, you have them forever. They will also redesign their site, which we expect to go live when the game is released, hopefully during the summer.

It’s been a rumour that BF Heroes is planned also for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, but this has now been stopped from DICE. One of the arguments for it not coming to consoles is that it is tailored for social features on the PC. That is one argument I’m completely buying as the social networking capacities on these consoles really isn’t that bad.
