Battlefield Heroes has now been free and accessible for anyone who have wanted to play it for a while, and we have some numbers for you about how much it has been play, what has been played and so on. You can also check out the full article over at IGN. Since the closed beta in February, as many as 40 millions have played BF Heroes. Just remember this is 40 million sessions, not 40 million unique players. It is about 1.5 million different users from 133 different countries, but the majority of the players are from the US, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, Russia, Canada, Poland and Brazil.
What classes is most popular?
The Commando is the most played character, with as much as 40 % played time. Just behind is the Soldier, with 37 %. Last is the Gunner, with only 23 % played. My guess is that the Gunner will be the focus of the developers from now on, since it is so much less played than the other classes. They didn’t want to say anything about which class was the most lethal class, or anything about the kill/death ratio of the classes.
A more surprising fact for me was how close the ratio between Nationals and Royals are, National Army is played by 50.4 % while Royal Army is played by 49.6 %. This is very impressing, and few games are able to balance the faction as well as Battlefield Heroes has done.
First, there is a new map, called Coastal Clash released soon. It will be very centered around infantry, compared to many other maps where especially tanks are vital to a victory. The windmill in the middle is very important for the control of the map.
